Profile & Preferences
Customize your TerraScale account with profile information and personal preferences.
Accessing Settings
Section titled “Accessing Settings”Navigate to Settings in the sidebar to access profile and preference options.
Profile Settings
Section titled “Profile Settings”Access profile settings from Settings > Profile.
Profile Information

Updating Your Display Name
Section titled “Updating Your Display Name”- Navigate to Settings > Profile
- Click the Edit icon next to Display Name
- Enter your new name
- Click Save
Your display name appears in:
- Organization member lists
- Activity logs
- Team notifications
Setting an Avatar
Section titled “Setting an Avatar”- Navigate to Settings > Profile
- Click the Edit icon next to Avatar
- Enter a URL to your profile image
- Click Save
Supported formats:
- JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP
- Recommended size: 200x200 pixels
- URL must be publicly accessible
Tips for avatar URLs:
- Use Gravatar with your email
- Upload to a CDN or image host
- Use GitHub avatar URL
Changing Your Email
Section titled “Changing Your Email”Email changes require support assistance for security:
- Contact support@terrascale.io
- Verify your identity (current email, organization name)
- Provide the new email address
- Confirm via link sent to both addresses
Preferences
Section titled “Preferences”Access preferences from Settings > Preferences.
Choose your dashboard appearance:
Bright interface with white background. Best for well-lit environments.
Dark interface with reduced brightness. Best for low-light environments.
Automatically follows your operating system’s theme setting.
To change theme:
- Navigate to Settings > Preferences
- Select your preferred theme
- Change applies immediately
Timezone
Section titled “Timezone”Set your local timezone for accurate date/time display:
- Navigate to Settings > Preferences
- Select your timezone from the dropdown
- Click Save
Timezone affects:
- Dashboard timestamps
- Invoice dates
- Activity logs
- Scheduled operations
Notifications
Section titled “Notifications”Configure email notifications:

To update notification preferences:
- Navigate to Settings > Preferences
- Toggle each notification type
- Click Save
Default Region
Section titled “Default Region”Set the default region for new databases:
- Navigate to Settings > Preferences
- Select your preferred region
- Click Save
This region will be pre-selected when creating new databases. You can always choose a different region during creation.
Choosing a default region:
- Select the region closest to your users
- Consider data residency requirements
- Check available regions
Account Information
Section titled “Account Information”Viewing Account Details
Section titled “Viewing Account Details”From Settings > Profile, you can view:

Account Statistics
Section titled “Account Statistics”View your account activity:
- Total databases created

Linked Accounts
Section titled “Linked Accounts”OAuth Connections
Section titled “OAuth Connections”If you signed up with a social provider, view linked accounts:

Managing OAuth Connections
Section titled “Managing OAuth Connections”To link an account:
- Navigate to Settings > Profile
- Click “Connect” next to the provider
- Authorize the connection
- Account is now linked
To unlink an account:
- Navigate to Settings > Profile
- Click “Disconnect” next to the provider
- Confirm the action
Note: You cannot unlink your only login method. Set a password first or link another provider.
Deleting Your Account
Section titled “Deleting Your Account”To permanently delete your TerraScale account:
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”Before deletion:
- Leave or transfer ownership of all organizations
- Download any data you need to keep
- Revoke all API keys
- Cancel any active subscriptions
Deletion Process
Section titled “Deletion Process”- Navigate to Settings > Profile
- Scroll to Danger Zone
- Click “Delete Account”
- Enter your password
- Type
DELETEto confirm - Click “Permanently Delete Account”
What Gets Deleted
Section titled “What Gets Deleted”- Your user account and profile
- All personal data
- Session and login history
- Notification preferences
What’s NOT Deleted
Section titled “What’s NOT Deleted”- Organization data (if you transferred ownership)
- Shared resources remain with the organization
- Audit logs are retained for compliance
Cooling Off Period
Section titled “Cooling Off Period”After requesting deletion:
- 7-day grace period before permanent deletion
- Log in during this period to cancel
- After 7 days, deletion is irreversible
Export Your Data
Section titled “Export Your Data”Request a copy of your personal data:
- Navigate to Settings > Profile
- Click “Export My Data”
- Select data types to include
- Click “Request Export”
- Download link sent to your email
Export includes:
- Profile information
- Preference settings
- Activity history
- Organization memberships
Export does not include database contents (use API for data export).
